Courses
This course consists of just one lesson and is a one-time clinic. This lesson introduces you to flatwater kayaking. A swimming certificate is required!
Upon arrival, you can store your belongings in the instructor's van. You can change at the van. It's helpful to wear your swimsuit under your other clothes, as there are no changing rooms. Depending on the weather, you may or may not receive a wetsuit for warmth. You'll also receive a life jacket, a paddle, and a kayak. You'll then learn how to adjust the kayak's footrest to your height. Before we go out on the water, you'll learn what to do if you capsize and how to empty the boat on the shore.
On the water, you'll learn different paddle strokes to control the kayak. Then we'll put this into practice with various games like tag, relay, and kayak polo (5-ball).
At the end, we return all the equipment to the bus and trailer. The entire clinic lasts two hours.
